A puppy in Michigan endured one of the most difficult beginnings in life. Despite that, he has been adopted into a loving home.
It all began when Jackson County animal control personnel responded to a terrifying complaint. A good Samaritan reported seeing a small dog confined in a cage made of black wire in a nearby river.
The pit bull puppy was quickly rescued by animal control and transported to the Jackson County Animal Shelter for treatment. The shelter staff and volunteers noted that it was fortunate that the pup, estimated to be between 5 and 6 months old, was rescued prior to the severe flooding of the cage brought about by heavy rains.
Lydia Sattler, a spokesperson for the Jackson County Animal Shelter, stated that the pit bull puppy, now named VanBuren, was brought in with a broken front-right leg and numerous abrasions.
VanBuren soon showed that he is a very sweet and affectionate puppy who is full of wiggles and licks, loves people, and desires to be the greatest dog ever. Sattler added that VanBuren appeared content simply being in the company of others.
The puppy’s personality was so contagious and upbeat that it quickly found a new home. According to Sattler, its adoptive family fell instantly in love with him. However, the shelter has announced that it will continue to provide VanBuren with all necessary medical care while he recovers in his new home. VanBuren’s situation is gradually transforming for the better.
On Facebook, tens of thousands of individuals shared VanBuren’s story, eliciting tens of thousands of responses. The vast majority of these were from individuals willing to adopt the dog. In addition, the shelter asserted that pit bulls are the most common breed in all shelters, and prospective dog adopters should not overlook them.
