As pet parents, we always want to give our fur babies the best so they can have and enjoy a healthy life. This includes making them eat nutritiously, play happily, and sleep comfortably! As responsible dog owners, we must choose the best things for our furry children.
Similarly, many bedding options are available nowadays, but we must help pinpoint what suits our pets best. We can learn the perfect bed that fits our dog’s sleeping position.
Elevated Dog Bed
This type of bedding usually has mesh sleep surfaces that would be beneficial for dogs who sleep in the Superman position or when a dog lies on its stomach with its four legs stretched out. Most dogs who sleep in this position are also the ones who want to cool their body off. Elevated dog beds allow airflow because of their material, which is the perfect bed for dogs sleeping on their stomachs. It’s the most suitable because it keeps your dog calm and comfortable.
Lounger Dog Bed
If your dog sleeps on its back with all four paws up in the air or the so-called Sprawler, he will benefit from having this kind of bed. Lounger beds can be rectangular or oval, with bolsters to support your dog. Of course, dogs want to feel safe and protected while they’re sleeping.
With this in mind, beds with bolsters provide something that will press up against your dog’s back, ultimately ensuring that they have nothing to worry about. Furthermore, since they sleep on their back, plenty of cushions are necessary so they won’t wake up with an achy back.
Circular Dog Bed
For dogs that sleep in a curled position, circular beds with high walls create a safe and comfortable sleeping environment. Dogs who sleep this way often have short hair or thinner coats and smaller dog breeds. They do this to regulate body heat, making them feel safe and sound. The higher walls will help your dog’s body heat in the bed while feeling protected.
Orthopedic Dog Bed
This bedding is like human mattresses for dogs. Though Pillow Dog Beds may work, orthopedic beds are your long-term solution since the filling inside pillow beds can become flat over time due to your pet’s weight. Furthermore, as the name suggests, orthopedic beds are filled with orthopedic foam. Aside from that, they feature a flat design that makes long and wide sleep surfaces for side sleepers.
As dog parents, we always provide whatever we think they need. In return, they give us their unconditional love and devotion. The least we can do to bring color to our lives is to provide them comfort, security, and love.
