A large number of rescue dogs that are currently living in shelters have spent most of their lives as strays. They have never had any kind of experience interacting with humans before they found themselves in the shelter. It is also most likely that when they were strays, any experience with a human was likely a negative one because they have no idea how to deal with people.
It takes some time for dogs that have been adopted by loving families to fully comprehend that they will finally be living in a safe place. Some dogs that are adopted into their forever homes first experience anxiety. It may be because they are not familiar with their new surroundings, and it is also possible that they would act wary or even afraid of their new human family, in which case they will try to find a place where they could hide.
When Sunny’s new owner, Alex, brought her home, she immediately began to show signs of this behavior. Sunny was so terrified when Alex initially brought her home that for the first two days, she didn’t even venture out of her crate. When Sunny eventually did leave the crate, she did so with a lot of caution and a lack of complete faith in Alex. Alex came to the conclusion that he was most likely Sunny’s first family, and that Sunny had not actually experienced what it was like to live in a house.
Alex was resolved to be of as much assistance to Sunny as possible by showering her with the affection that she deserved. After a few more days, Sunny began to warm up to Alex, and Alex was very patient with Sunny during this process. The man was aware that it would take some time for Sunny to get used to her new environment.
After Sunny gained confidence in Alex’s company, Alex came to the conclusion that it was about time for the two of them to go on a camping trip together. Alex was unprepared for the extent to which Sunny’s personality would change as a result of their time spent together.
Sunny loved her time spent in the fresh air with Alex. The dog was free to roam the area without being restricted by a leash, and she also had the opportunity to learn and try many new things. Sunny also had the impression that it was okay to be outside without being restrained by a leash.
Sunny experienced a profound transformation as a result of the camping trip. She placed a greater amount of trust in Alex, and Sunny began to display a more caring side.
