Lazarus is a dog owned by a man with a terminal illness. For years, his owner was unable to care for him. The canine lived in a barn and was trapped there, receiving food and water from a caring neighbor.
As the years passed, Lazarus languished in his sordid living conditions. He slept on his own waste, and his fur grew tremendously. The neighbor couldn’t take it anymore and sought help. This is where two selfless groomers went out of their way to help the dog get a better life.
Trapped
With permission from the dog owner, the two women went to the barn inside the property where Lazarus was staying. As soon as they got close to the door, they were met with a pungent stench that almost made them turn away. But they knew the dog needed their help, so they went inside.
There was so much filth and dirt inside that they had to use a shovel so Lazarus could be moved out. With so much fur on his body, the dog couldn’t move on his own. They had to push and carry the heavy canine outside.
They then immediately brought Lazarus to their grooming shop.
Comfortable
For the next several hours, the two groomers patiently cleaned Lazarus and carefully sheared off his thick coat. The nervous dog seemed uneasy at first, squirming while the women worked on him. But when he felt the weight off his body, the pooch seemed to relax and let the humans work on him.
After getting groomed, Lazarus was taken by an animal rescue organization and given to a foster family. In just a short time, the former neglected dog flourished and discovered how it is to be a pet. Soon after, he found his new forever family. He has adapted well and even had an amazing party for his eighth birthday.
