No one can really ever dispute the fact that dogs are born heroes. With that, it is not new to hear wonderful and incredible stories of dogs saving their humans from danger. You will even hear stories of pups saving animals of other species.
One example of the latter features a Goldendoodle named Harley. The said pup has just saved a baby deer from drowning.
A pup saves a fawn
A man named Ralph Dorn had been checking the lake behind his home to look for Harley. Then, he spotted him about 200 feet from the bank. He saw that Harley was swimming with another animal, which turned out to be a fawn.
In a viral post he shared on Facebook, Ralph said that he wasn’t sure how the fawn got to that part of the lake. However, Harley seemingly didn’t hesitate to jump into action to save the baby deer.
The adorable Goldendoodle paddled side-by-side with the tiny baby deer all the way to the bank. After Ralph lifted the fawn from the water and placed her on land, the dog started licking her body gently and caringly. Ralph said that the dog didn’t want to leave the fawn.
Thankfully, the fawn’s mom appeared after her daughter reached the shore. Once Ralph saw the mom, he took the dog home so that the fawn and her mom could have their time together.
Harley and the fawn reunited
The next morning, a surprise awaited Harley and Ralph.
While Ralph and his wife Patricia were drinking coffee, they noticed that Harley was restless. When Ralph opened the door, he suddenly heard the fawn crying.
Then, the dog ran into the trees and saw the baby deer. At that moment, the fawn stopped crying. The two touched noses and smelled each other.
After that short yet sweet reunion, the fawn and her mother settled down. Ralph hadn’t seen the pair since that day. However, you can’t deny that Harley’s heroism and heartwarming actions will be forever in that baby fawn’s mind.
