It’s not often that you hear about Siberian Huskies bonding with other animals, or in this case, mammals. That’s exactly what happened when Meeka, a Siberian Husky, met some rescued dolphins at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. The connection was instant!
It’s proof that dogs can be friends with anybody, and this Husky must have sensed a common ground with these mammals. She must have sensed that these mammals needed a friend, and Meeka, being a friend-maker, was all for it.
Meeka especially connected with Winter, the dolphin whose tail was caught in a crab trap. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium team had to get her a prosthetic tail so that she could swim, and she was able to.
Meeka and Winter raced back and forth, the dolphin in the aquarium, the dog outside of it. Both dog and mammal enjoyed their meeting, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Meeka goes and pays a visit again soon!
It’s heartwarming to see dogs make friends because they always make it look easy. No matter what species you are, dogs will find a way to connect with you on a deep level. We’re so glad that Meeka was able to make some new friends, and we hope she has many more fun adventures in the future.
We’re so glad that Meeka and the dolphins were able to meet and bond over their love of swimming! These beautiful beings will enjoy a lifetime of friendship, that’s for sure!
Watching anybody find new friends will always be a beautiful thing to witness. Let’s continue to open ourselves more to forging friendships by way of being kind.
Being there for someone and having that someone be there for you as well is perhaps the strongest confidence booster out there. Meeka can tell you it’s true!
