On his way home from school, Jaypee Barcelinia experienced an unexpected event. Riding a jeepney, a bus-type form of public transportation popular in the Philippines, an independent furry commuter decided to join the ride. After seeing the determination the stray pup has just to get aboard the bus, Jaypee happily made some room to accommodate the animal.
“She was resting in a public road when the jeepney I was riding passed by,” said Jaypee. “Suddenly, she started chasing after us. She wanted to take a ride.”
The pup tried her best but after 6 attempts, she failed to leap onto the bus. When it slows down, she’d go place her paws on the vehicle’s back step. But the moment the bus starts to pull away again, she’d lose balance and fall off.
At first, the bus driver was completely hesitant letting the pup come aboard. He was worried sick that it might just act out biting one of his passengers. It isn’t just normal in the country for stray animals, particularly dogs, to be chasing and riding public utility vehicles, said Jaypee.
Chasing after a running vehicle, the pup must have exerted and lost so much energy. But regardless of how tired she may be, she was determined to catch up on the vehicle and hail a ride. Eventually, the driver had a change of heart. He went on a full stop to have the stray pooch hop on inside.
But to the passenger’s surprise and amazement, the dog didn’t get on the jeepney right away. She stopped and threw the commuters a look. It’s as if she was waiting to be given permission before hopping on in.
Finally, the exhausted doggo got what she’s been wanting: a well-earned rest inside the vehicle. Already off the scorching heat of the sun, the pup now has a place to rest. So she rested and took some nap as the driver went on his route. Here’s a short clip:

After being rewarded a ride, the lucky pup received more. The bus driver who was reluctant at first decided to take her home. The pooch found her forever home in a bus ride.
