I’m one of a few people who like having people over. The more guests I welcome into my home, the better. That is why I never turn down any visitor that comes to my house. Well, maybe except the visitor in this featured video.
A security camera captured an unexpected scene on the driveway of a house in Sitka, Alaska, U.S.A. While the time is not shown in the video, it is clear that this visit happened in the dead of night. The family dog, 11-year-old Golden Retriever, Happy, was the first to notice the unwanted guest — a Grizzly bear!
Happy was outside the house when he noticed something from across the driveway. The pup most probably caught the scent of the Grizzly even before he saw it. And so, Happy seemed cautious as he looks out into the darkness.
Moments later, Happy begins to bark at something. Then, the shadow of the animal lurking in the darkness is faintly visible just behind one of the cars. And then, a bear comes into full view of the camera.
Despite Happy’s aggressive barking, the bear seemed determined to enter the house. It continued to walk towards the front entrance, but Happy was not about to let it pass. Instead, the brave canine continues to bark at the predator as he tries to protect his family, who are inside the house.
It is clear that the Grizzly bear could have easily taken Happy down with ease. But, luckily for the pooch, the bear was not in the mood for a fight. And so, with Happy constantly barking at it, the bear walks off into the darkness from whence it came.
Happy’s mom can then be heard opening the door and letting the heroic dog into the house for safety. What a terrifying encounter that was! Watch Happy as he bravely backs down a Grizzly bear in the video below.
