Anubis is a black dog without a nose. People rescued him from the Animal Protection Foundation based in Egypt. He was discovered protecting property, and rescuers immediately noticed he was missing a nose. Although it was unclear how Anubis lost his nose, rescuers speculated that this punishment was given to him because he barked too loud.
To survive, Anubis used his lower jaw to scoop food. Having a disability has made him suffer silently. Despite his condition, though, he was able to stay healthy and live in the area’s rough conditions.
The rescue for Anubis was initiated by the U.S.-based group named Special Needs Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation, who teamed up with its sister organization in Egypt, Animal Protection Foundation. They worked hard together to be able to find and save Anubis and bring him to the states.
While in the US, Anubis was first taken by a foster family in El Paso, Texas. However, the situation there did not suit Anubis’s needs. The family had larger dogs, which were unsuitable for Anubis’ case.
Luckily, Kelly Hutson, who hails from Spring, Texas, learned about the dog’s situation. She saw Anubis’s picture and immediately knew she wanted to adopt him.
Kelly was so persistent to have Anubis, and her persistence paid off when she was permitted to take the pooch home. She was delighted to finally meet her new pet after taking a 10-hour drive to pick her up.
Anubis has finally found the perfect home. Although there were other dogs in Kelly’s house, Anubis was given his own space, and he is doing very well.
Kelly described Anubis as a very loving dog despite what he has gone through.
